- A volunteer organization based at University of Rochester that provides volunteers to work with former refugees.

Mary's Place
- Volunteer needs:
- Accepting tutors and volunteers on Mondays & Fridays (Noon-5:00pm), Tuesdays & Thursdays (Noon-7:30pm) and Saturdays at 10:00am. Seeking volunteers to share their skills (i.e. meal preparation, art, knitting, reading area maps, playing ‘hop-scotch’ and soccer)
- Donation Needs:
- Can utilize blankets, socks, winter clothing, etc.

Mercy Bridges Adult Literacy and ESOL Programs
- Volunteer Needs:
- Accepting volunteer tutors for literacy development
- Accepting volunteers to assist with office work, assessment of learners, and grant writing
- Donation Needs:
- Batteries (AA, AAA, 9 volt), business size (#10) envelopes, copy paper, legal pads (8½ x 11), postage stamps, printer ink cartridges: HP 93, 95, 98
- Monetary donations to assist with the purchase of instructional materials

Literacy Volunteers of Rochester, Inc. (LVR)
- Volunteer Needs:
- Accepting volunteer tutors
- Accepting volunteers for office and library help
- Donation Needs:
- Accepting monetary donations, donations of coffee, tea and hot chocolate for our tutor training workshops and learner classes
- Accepting donations of gift cards to Wegmans and Wal-Mart, for learner incentive programs.

Maplewood Community Library
- Volunteer Needs:
- Accepting Volunteers for Saturday mornings to work with children while their parents are in ESOL classes. (Must be willing to read to children and to prepare a craft to go along with the story.)
- Accepting tutors Monday thru Thursday (3:30pm-7:00pm) and Fridays (3:00pm-5:30pm) and Saturdays (10:00AM-2:00PM) who are willing to help children with their homework are needed.
- Accepting adult tutors who are willing to work one on one with an adult refugee.
- Donation Needs:
- Craft supplies, paper, flash cards. pencils and pens are appreciated, all school supplies
- To all knitters, hats and mittens are always need for “Bundle Up with a Good Book”

- Volunteer needs:
- Accepting volunteers interested in working with refugees, immigrants, and other adults in employment training and education classes, Monday through Friday from 8:00am until 8:00pm at our Hart Street location.
- Donation Needs:
- Notebooks, folders, paper and pencils

- Accepting van drivers, student advocates, tutors, sorting assistance, secretarial/computer assistance and fundraising assistance
